In private seniors’ residences, care attendants assist independent or semi-independent seniors. They assist residents with the activities of daily living, such as those involving moving around, hygiene, dressing and so forth. They also work to prevent infections and contamination, and look after the well-being and safety of the residents.
Program objectives
- Acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to compensate for physical or mental disability in the home patient.
- Learn to meet the patient’s nutritional needs, ensure his well-being and safety, but above all to promote his autonomy.
- Train students to accompany the patient in his daily and domestic life.
